NEW! FREE BQA Q&A SESSION
WALA is pleased to announce
a collaborative effort with BQA at our 6th Annual Fall Symposium. A new
initiative from the Assisted Living Section
is to do more outreach with the assisted living providers. WALA is
honored to provide an opportunity for all providers to meet the BQA
regulators from their region at no cost (due to the last minute addition
of this item, BQA staff are not able to attend the Appleton regional
on September 28. The time will instead be used for a regulatory update
as mentioned below).
The first hour (8:30 – 9:30 a.m.) of each regional symposium
will provide an opportunity to meet your regional regulators in an
informal
give-and-take session, where you can ask questions in a non-threatening
setting.
To attend the BQA session, simply check the box on
the registration form. Attending the rest of the symposium is optional
and will require
registration and payment.
RISING ACUITY & RETENTION
As acuity rises, how are you as a manager
equipped to deal with the changes needed in your approach to marketing,
sales (internal and external),
staff recruitment, operations and planning?
Our interactive workshop will cover:
- Trends in state and national assisted
living acuity, and how to determine your residence’s acuity along
this spectrum
- Comparing your marketing materials to your acuity to make
sure they compliment each other
- Creating an action plan to market and
sell your new position
- Can you deliver what you sell?
- How to communicate your action plan
to staff and how to make sure your staff lets you know when the plan
needs to change
- All WALA Regional Symposia include tools and activities
for employee in-service prepared in a Train-the-Trainer format!
This one-day workshop is your opportunity to learn from industry experts,
share your experiences, brainstorm solutions, and walk out at the end
of the day with a customized action plan for your residence. You can
then implement that action plan immediately utilizing the staff training
tools and exercises provided.
Over the course of the day, we will provide you with the resources,
time and feedback to start planning for your changing future. We will
show you: 1) how that future will affect your marketing methods and materials,
2) employee talking points, 3) who you sell, 4) how you sell them, 5)
how to assess the skills of your staff and 6) what it means for your
internal communication plan.
Please bring the following materials for your personal reference:
- Marketing
materials that reference admission “criteria”
- Pre-assessment
forms and strategies
- Assessment information that identifies case mix
- Care plans that instruct
staff
- Daily charting examples that communicate key acuity data
- Staff communication
tools (e.g. Priority concern forms, 24-hour reports, shift-to-shift
reports, etc.)
- Other pertinent documentation that you feel may be useful
to you in creating your action plan
