Nurse Delegation in Assisted Living

Higher resident acuity, regulatory requirements, and managing unlicensed assistive personnel are a few challenges a nurse faces in the assisted living environment. One of the most complex nursing skills is that of delegation. It requires clinical judgment and final accountability for resident care. Effective delegation is based not only the state’s nurse practice act (N6) but also an understanding of the concepts of responsibility, authority, and accountability.  This (half-day) session will explore the nurse’s role in the assisted living environment and help nurses understand how to use delegation safely and effectively in the AL setting. At the end of this session, RN’s will have more comfort and confidence in their role in the AL environment.

This four and a half hour training seminar will cover topics such as:

  • RN Role in AL
  • Safe Delegation
  • Effective Delegation
  • Accountability
