Recently, the Senate Committee on Health held a hearing on Senate Bill 257 which would allow residents to designate an “essential visitor” to provide support for residents during a communicable disease outbreak. WALA submitted the following testimony requesting that the federal Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) be included as an exception to the requirements as assisted living facilities are governed by CDC guidance.
